Vamplayers By Rusty Fischer Review

Hi guys! This is Lily here! I just read a book on my Kindle iPod app called Vamplayers. I'll admit I was a little hesitant to read this book since it was about vampires, but I'm happy I did! I read Twilight and loved it, so I feel like no other vampire books are as good. And the vampires mythology in each book is always different, and since I'm so used to Stephenie Meyer's (Twilight author) vampire mythology, I don't always like to read other vampire books.

WHAT THE BOOK IS ABOUT: Lily is a member of The Sisters. She and her two 'sisters' goes around the world (or maybe it's just the country) protecting Innocents (humans/mortals) from Vamplayers. Vamplayers are bad vampires who like to start Infestations (they turn whole schools at a time.) But when she and her 'sisters' arrive at Nightshade School strange things start happening to Lily's sisters, so Lily has to try and identify the Vamplayer all by herself. But the Vamplayer might not be who she think it's is.
WHAT I LIKED ABOUT THE BOOK: I liked how I felt like I was in Nightshade school when Rusty (the author) was describing. I also liked how Lily was described, I felt like I knew her very well by the end of the book, which is a little surprising to me since the author is a man and his main character is a girl. He did a very good job because I didn't even notice that it was a male author until I was finished reading it.
WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE ABOUT THE BOOK: I didn't like how the author didn't describe very well what the 'Simulation House' was. I also didn't like that another vampires name was Alice. All I could picture this Alice as was the Alice from the Twilight Saga, so that was VERY confusing to me. I also felt like some of the scenes in the book were very confusing, I didn't always know exactly what was happening.
MY FAVORITE SCENE IN THE BOOK: I'm not going to say which character because that would give most of the plot of the story away, but I liked it when Lily realized that one character had no idea what she was (a vampire.)
MY FAVORITE CHARACTER: I liked Lily, obviously. Zander was cool too though.
MY LEAST FAVORITE CHARACTER IN THE BOOK: Bianca! I also didn't like Tristan that much, but I give the author praise for coming up with Tristan's character. But as a character in the book, I didn't like him.
WHAT AGE I RECOMMEND THE BOOK FOR: Probably 12 or 13 and up. The book was confusing in some spots, as it moved very quickly from scene to scene in some spots. Also the book had some gore and violence in at the end of the book when they were fighting/attacking. A few characters die, one characters melts (I think), two characters end up in a vampire like hospital, etc.
RATING OUT OF FIVE STARS: Probably 3 and a half stars to four stars. It was pretty good, but not the best book I've ever read.

Prom by: Laurie Halse Anderson Review

I read a book called Prom by: Laurie Halse Anderson. First of all I have never read a book by Laurie Anderson.
WHAT IS IT ABOUT: High School senior Ashley Hannigan, will have nothing to do with the senior prom. All her friends care about is prom, especially her best friend Natalia, who is head of the prom committee. Who wants to stand and dance around in a hot gym?  But when the prom money is stolen, Ashley suddenly finds herself roped into the putting together a huge dance out of absolutely no money. While balancing school, prom, her punk boyfriend, TJ, and her crazy family, she starts to believe that they can start to save the prom. But when Nat, brakes her leg while walking through school, Ashley has to save the prom on her own. While working on prom she realizes that maybe after high school she can have a real future than living in her parents basement or in a apartment with TJ. Ashley now has basically saved the prom while to find out that she can't attend. She has to many dentions,  and library fees. She doesn't care, she didn't even want to go to the prom anyway. She sneaks in anyway and sees that the prom is a huge hit. She is proud of what she has accomplished.
WHAT I LIKED: I liked that Ashley finds herslef through prom and that prom is a huge hit, (I LOVED that her friend gets proposed too!!)
WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE: There was some inappropriate parts, that I wouldn't have liked to read, it didn't need to be part of the book, well from my view. It also is totally unrealistic. I don't want to give it away.
WHAT SCENE DID I LIKE: I like the Prom scene the best.
I would probably give it 3 out of 5 stars, for inappropriate scenes and for being unrealistic.
I would probably only recommend it for ages 13 and up. But then again I have NEVER read a book by Anderson.

Full Circle By Mona Ingram Review

Hi!

I just finished reading Full Circle by Mona Ingram. This a Kindle book. I don't have a Kindle, but I do have the Kindle app for my iPod, so I read Kindle books that way.

WHAT THE BOOK IS ABOUT: Bella and her boyfriend are doing pretty well until he announces that he's going to marry a different girl. So Bella moves to California where she gives birth to a beautiful baby girl without even telling her old boyfriend that she (or he) even has a daughter. This little girl is Bella's life, along with the woman and her daughter that she shares a house with. Bella's daughter is very interested in fashion and loves it when Bella will sew her clothes. This sparks a wonderful idea. When Bella and her housemate open up a stand at the local market selling clothes, this turns into a huge company. And they need help. So who will they hire to help them? How will Bella's daughter deal with growing up with out a father? What will happen if she meets her father? And worse, what if she meets her half brother?
WHAT I LIKED ABOUT THE BOOK: I like how I fell in love with the characters. I felt like I knew the characters. They were my best friends. When Bella was scared, I was scared. When Melissa was happy, I was happy. I honestly was sad when the book ended. But if this tells you anything, I started the book at probably 2:30 or 3:00 and was done with it by 6:00.
WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE ABOUT THE BOOK: I thought it was a bit unrealistic. There a scene when one of the main characters Mom dies. And the main characters Dad doesn't even hardly show any sadness. I felt that that was very unrealistic. And also, how realistic is to be come practically a millionaire over the summer and sell clothes to Hollywood's top celebrities kids? Also, they make this one character, Valeria, a somewhat main character in the beginning of the book and by the end of the middle of the book she's disappeared. At the end of the book I have no idea what happened to Valeria. Although I might of missed a page or something.
MY FAVORITE CHARACTER: Bella obviously. She's the main character! I also loved Sofia and Melissa. Melissa felt like she was my best friend and I've known her since preschool. I liked Valeria too though, although she kind of disappeared at the end of the book.
MY LEAST FAVORITE CHARACTER: Either Jeffrey or Jeffrey's wife. I think her name is Angela.
MY FAVORITE SCENE IN THE BOOK: Probably when Melissa give them the idea to sell clothes.
RATING OUT OF FIVE STARS: Four and a quarter. I loved this book so much, but it was a bit unrealistic.
WHAT I AGE I RECOMMEND IT FOR: Probably 11 or 12. Although this books is an adult book there is no adult stuff in it, so it's fine for kids.

Prom By: Laurie Halse Anderson Review

I read a book called Prom. I will tell you about it:

WHAT THE BOOK WAS ABOUT: Ashely Hannigan's math teacher steals all of the prom money and Ashely has to help pull the Prom back together again. But when she cuts class and doesn't pay her library fines, and she gets kicked out of the Prom, what does she do? This book has lots of ups and downs.
WHAT I LIKED: I liked that all of her brother's got along well and that all of the brothers played with the dad.
WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE: I didn't like that the book was split up into different sections. It would say: 1. blah, blah, blah. You get the picture. And her boyfriend.
FAVORITE CHARACTER: Ashley's best friend. She just seemed to be really nice.
LEAST FAVORITE CHARACTER: Ashely's boyfriend. He was like a year older than her and just seem to be not nice at all. HE was trying to get her to do all this this stuff that was weird.
FAVORITE SCENE IN THE BOOK: When she sneaks into prom.
THE AGE THAT I RECOMMEND: Probably 11 or 12.
RATING OUT OF FIVE STARS: 2 and a half. I liked it but it wasn't my favorite one that I've read.

Confessions of a First Daughter by: Cassidy Calloway Review

I just read a book called: Confessions of a First daughter. I will tell you about it:

WHAT THE BOOK IS ABOUT: Morgan Abbott's mom is the President of the United states. Unfortunately, her one major talent is messing things up. So every mistake she makes, makes the front page of the newspaper. To top it all off, she's been assigned a brainiac secret service agent (never mind that he's cute). Toture! But when mom has to sneak away on secret business, the only person that can help her is Morgan. Can she pull it off? Or will she mess everything up... again?
WHAT I LIKED: I liked that even though Morgan was 18, she looked almost exactly like her.
WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE: I didn't like how everyone just steered her around and she didn't get alot of say in what she did.
FAVORITE CHARACTER: I liked her bodyguard. He was 20 but he sounded like he was giant!
LEAST FAVORITE CHARACTER: Her mom's helper person dude. He NEVER said anything.
THE AGE I RECCOMEND: 11 and up. Preteen book.
RATING OUT OF FIVE STARS: 3 1\2. She described the book and characters ok-ish.

Leap Day Review By Lily

Hi guys! This is Lily here! Today I'm going to be writing a review on a book I read recently: Leap Day by Wendy Mass.

WHAT THE BOOK IS ABOUT: Josie, the protagonist in the book, is turning four. Or sixteen. Whichever you want to call it. Josie was born on February 29th, Leap Day. Leap Day by Wendy Mass takes you through the whole day of Josie's birthday. This birthday is certainly one she'll never forget! On her birthday she auditions for the part of Juliet in her school's play Romeo and Juliet, suspects her friend Megan has an eating disorder, her secret crush (well her crush doesn't know she likes him) calls her by her NAME(!), she takes her driving test, her friend Katy hands her a secret private note, and a pregnant senior girl at their school is about to have her baby.

WHAT I LIKED: I liked how the book takes place over the course of one day. Not a week, not a month, not a year, but one day.

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE: I didn't like that the book was separated into chapters A and B. For exampled chapter 1A would be from Josie's POV, but then the next chapter, chapter 1B, would be in third person replaying the same scene. I did like that in some points though because otherwise you would never know what the other characters in the book are thinking.

MY FAVORITE CHARACTER OF THE BOOK: That would probably have to be Josie, but if I can't pick the main character I would pick either Megan or Sloane. Even though Sloane is just a side character, I really like her for some reason. Even though she's like 7.

MY LEAST FAVORITE CHARACTER IN THE BOOK: Those twins whose names start with T. I forget their names now. See how much I didn't like them? ;)

FAVORITE SCENE IN THE BOOK: I don't know. Probably when Josie helped Sloane become not afraid of the 'ghosts' in the ride at Disneyworld. That was sweet.

WHAT AGE I RECCOMEND THE BOOK FOR: Probably 11 or 12 and up. Since Josie IS turning 16 kids younger than 11or 12 might not get everything that Josie's talking about.

RATING OUT OF FIVE STARS: 4 and three quarters! I can't rate it five because the whole chapter switching off and on was kind of annoying. Plus they didn't really describe the Dad's job enough, so I would rate it four and three quarters.

Thanks so much for reading!
